Fictional Reality In The Garden Of Delights

Tetralogy inspired by Hieronymus Bosch

In 2015 I started with a project that resulted in a series of works inspired by Hieronymus Bosch regarding 'The garden of earthly delights'. In this project, the visual focus lies on the landscape composed out of photographs of a dune landscape. Later I also translated these into etchings (toyobo prints).

Artist book

This artist book exists of works created during the process for the art prints and digital images especially created for the book. Some of these came into existence using effects offered by the program to create the book and therefor only exist by the book, not as files. It contains an extra two pages for 'The Garden of Delights (re)United', a mini installation. Scroll down to find out about.

This artist book comes with the first printed and framed artwork to be sold. Take a look: Click here

The Garden of Delights - (re)united

In this mini installation object and surrounding melt together into one completeness. Trying to understand what meets the eye, we find ourselves as part of this wholeness. There’s reflections and see-through and everything takes place within an intertwining context.

It’s an effort to reunite the front of the famous triptych 'The Garden of Earthly Delights' by Jeroen Bosch, which is by its frame divided into two.

Although in this version the landscape seems to grow back together again, the aspect of not being able to grasp everything at the same time, is embodied in a new way: One has to look real close, to see what’s happening in this world.

The work exists of a lens covering a small screen print that comes as a folding card with passe-partout.

Screen print /artist print / Limited edition. Commissioned by Grafisch Atelier, Den Bosch, 2015.
